The Christian Life is Work!

The Christian life is Work!

We are living in a generation of freeloaders who have an entitlement attitude toward everything. They seem to approach their work with the question, how little can I do and still get a pay check.

There is no reward in the Christian life without work! Some people seem to think trusting Jesus is all that is necessary to be a good Christian, my Bible says, faith without works is dead (James 2:26)! You are saved without works, but God does not distribute a Salvation that doesn’t work!

Real salvation ought to move you to sanctification and service.
If you believe that trusting Jesus is going to make life comfortable you have truly been deceived. Don’t misunderstand me, there is great comfort with Christ in times of sorrow and grief but

spiritual growth calls for growing pains.

Woe to them that are at ease in Zion. Our Lord often allows things to shake up our apathetic, or should I say, pathetic Christian lives. The reason we don’t experience revival or spiritual breakthrough is because we don’t work at our walk with God. It takes work to read your Bible, It takes work to really pray for others, it takes work to hand out gospel tracts, it takes work to attend church every service, it takes work to tithe, it takes work to die tour selfish, bitter, envious wicked flesh! Jesus called it cross bearing!
It takes work not to quit when you have failed!

It’s not the Christian that starts well that gets the rewards but the one that finishes well.

There will always be ups and downs in life whether you are serving the Lord or not, but people with good character choose the right path and stay on it.

Those who are growing in the Lord are going for the Lord! They are working out their own salvation (Philippians 2:12) it doesn’t say, they are working for their salvation but rather they are working out their salvation. You can’t work out what you don’t have in you! Maybe that’s why a lot of people who claim the name of Christ have no testimony! They don’t really have it. The best way to know you have it is work it out! If you don’t care about your testimony then you have bigger problems.

God has never used a lazy man to accomplish a great work! Gideon was busy when God called him, David was busy when God called him, Daniel was a diligent man and God used him mightily! Paul was a busy man before he was saved and busy after he was saved! People with some personal elf discipline always grow faster in the Lord and stay longer than those without it! After a man receives God’s grace God expects a man to work with it. 1 Corinthians 15:10 “…and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain…”
