Without Faith!

Without faith!

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. –

Hebrews 11:6
The longer I live the more I understand that the pilgrimage of

the Christian life is more about following than it is leading.

It is more about trusting than it is reasoning, and its more about doing good, than feeling good. Leading, reasoning and feeling good are not wrong, and they have their place, but the path God has called us to follow is not always comfortable nor does it always make sense.

Abraham was told to offer up his only son Isaac only to find out it was a test of faith. Joseph was to be sold in slavery only to discover God orchestrated his trials to teach him and to aid his family later on. Moses was to lead Israel to Canaan land by way of the Red sea only to part the waters. David was to serve under a king who would threaten to take his life for nearly ten years. Daniel would be taken to Babylon as a young man and face the peer pressure of conformity yet by faith he would keep his Hebrew identity and convictions. Mary would be asked to bare the Christ child knowing that people would ridicule her pregnancy being out of wedlock.

The faith life is not the easy life but it is the most rewarding life.

These people knew how to come to God and they sought him diligently. We can look at these people and say they were all naturally gifted in some area but could it be that their faith brought to the surface gifts that otherwise would have laid dormant their entire lives?

The pursuit of God’s will found in his Word and the diligent prayers for God’s provision and strength are what made the difference in their lives. They were rewarded because they diligently sought God. God gives us the same promise. Those who diligently seek God must do it with faith and they will be rewarded with greater personal character and more confidence in God, the kind of confidence that makes us free from worry.

Everyone is living by faith, but not everyone is living by the kind of faith God can bless.

They have a faith in their company, a faith in the mortal hands that feed them, a faith in their own abilities. These will be weighed in the balance of tribulation only to be found wanting. The result is they often must compromise what they believe true, to get what they want. In doing this they forfeit their integrity.
Those with faith in God know he is always interested in them. He is always available to help them. He is always able to help them and desires to prove himself to them. Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. – Jeremiah 33:3
