The Resurrection of Christ

The Resurrection of Christ

What does the resurrection of Christ mean to you? I was considering this question, and here is what came to mind.

It is obviously the punctuation mark in God’s redemptive work for mankind. It validated all our Lord said and did. His resurrection was no private event; He appeared to over five hundred people.

Even secular historians testify of the resurrected Christ—not that I need their approval because the evidence is clear and indisputable. Why would His disciples be willing to die for a Man that they scattered from during His trial? The only logical answer is that they saw Him alive after they saw Him crucified.

The resurrection means truth cannot be put away for long. It has power to give life and sustain life. It has power to overcome the largest obstacles and the vilest assaults. Second Corinthians 13:8 says, “For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.”

Our Lord was Truth incarnate. Evil men tried to abolish Him, and all they did was help accomplish His Father’s will. Those of us who hold the truth of God’s Word as the guiding light for our lives can be assured that truth will overcome. It may seem dead, it may seem buried, but it will rise again!

Those of us who have received Christ have that same resurrection Spirit in us that was in Him. May God help us to fully surrender to Him and allow Him to show the world we serve a risen Savior!
