Preparation Breeds Anticipation!

Preparation Breeds Anticipation!

The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer- Proverbs 30:25

Those who live in cold weather climates understand the need to get ready for winter. God’s creatures can teach us much about life and how to thrive not just survive! These little critters take advantage of the opportunities given them to get ready for bad weather.

They don’t waste their summers!

They know the value of time!
A lot of people have a hard time anticipating the future because they don’t plan for the future!

Everybody has a summer to prepare for their winter. When a man is young and still vibrant, it is his time to work, save, and prepare.  Lamentations 3:27 says, it is good for a man to bear the yoke in his youth.

The day will come when they will not have their youth and strength so they must live off what they have prepared in their summer years, not the government, not their parents, etc…
It wasn’t raining when Noah built the ark. We are foolish to think we will stay afloat during the storms of life if we didn’t prepare when we had oppurtunity. Preparation is the key to abundant living.

Those who live with anticipation understand the importance of preparation!

We may differ in skills, and treasure but we can all be prepared.
Proverbs 4:26 teaches us to

“Ponder the path of our feet and let all of our ways be established.” Prepared people think ahead they know tomorrow is coming and the only thing they can do is prepare today. Author and speaker Fred Smith says, he tries to work each day so as to look forward to tomorrow. Alan Lakein say’s those who fail to plan, plan to fail!

Planning and preparation takes work but it is always a worthwhile work. There are two great pains in life, the pain of discipline and the pain of regret.

Regret always hurts more than discipline. Some of you need to prepare your children for adulthood now while there is still hope for them. The time will come they won’t be as teachable and you will still be taking care of them when they should be taking care of you.

The man who learns to prepare will always excel the man who lives off natural gifts.

The story of the tortoise and the hare is still a classic. The day will come when those natural gifts will wither and the lack of discipline will be evident, he will be seeking the refuge and provision of the prepared man.
The most important preparation anyone can make is to meet God. Amos 4:12 tells us to prepare to meet thy God. We will all keep this appointment weather we are ready or not. If you are not saved I urge you to consider the gift Christ has made possible (Romans 6:23). If you are saved, remember we only have one life to prepare for rewards in heaven (1 Corinthians 3:11-15). God wants us to be a prepared people in all areas of our lives! Remember preparation breeds anticipation!
