Who Is Your Master?
Who is your Master?
Luke 16:13 “No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other: or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”
the servant only has the supply of his master to draw from. Genesis 24 gives us a great example of this. Abraham sends his servant to find Isaac his bride, this is a great picture of God the Father sending the Holy Spirit to find Christ a bride. In this story the servant takes of his master’s wealth and journeys toward Mesopotamia (Genesis 24:10). He had all he needed to convince the potential bride that Isaac was well able to care for her. As Christians we have been given the Holy Spirit with spiritual gifts (Ephesians 1:3, Galatians 5:22-23, Philippians 4:19, and 2 Timothy 1:7). We have all we need from our master that is if we have been purchased by Him (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). If you have not been purchased by Christ then you are still sold under sin (Romans 7:14) and your flesh is your master (Galatians 5:17-21). Which supply are you drawing from, the flesh or the Spirit
